NASCA Recognizes 2022 Innovation Award Recipients

LEXINGTON, KY — Six exemplary initiatives were chosen as recipients for the National Association of State Chief Administrators’ (NASCA) 2022 Innovation in State Government Award to recognize state administrative department programs that exemplify best practices in operations and leadership.

Recipients were announced at NASCA’s Award Ceremony held during the 2022 Institute on Management and Leadership in Scottsdale, Arizona on September 19, 2022. This marks the eighth consecutive year NASCA has honored outstanding achievements in the public sector through the awards program. The nominations are reviewed by experienced state Chief Administrators and subject-matter experts from the private sector based on innovation, ability to transfer or replicate the initiatives to other states and local governments, and efficiencies created.

The 2022 Award Recipients are:

Acquisition, Supply Chain and Stockpiles:

  • State of Rhode Island: Navigating the Covid-19 Supply Chain

Customer Service & Experience:

  • State of Oklahoma: Driving the Digitization of Disability Placards

Digital Services, Data Management, Analytics and Visualization:

  • State of California: FI$Cal Purchase Order Payment History Search

Diversity, Equity and Inclusion in Procurement:

  • State of Arizona: Set-Aside Program

Transformation:

  • State of Minnesota: Statewide "Global Peace" Agreement in Landmark Opioid Settlement Case

Workspace Optimization Initiatives:

  • State of Florida: Operations and Maintenance Energy Conservation Measures 

“Each year NASCA recognizes the most innovative initiatives in state government operations and this year’s recipients continue to showcase efficiencies that ultimately lead to better outcomes for citizens of the state,” said Pam Goins, executive director of NASCA. “The programs exemplify increased productivity and reduced cost leading to overall economic growth.”
