Following the highly successful summer virtual serie s, NASCA will focus the winter professional development on looking forward to 2021. Taking a somewhat lighthearted approach to the struggles that 202 0 has brought us, the Thought Leadership Series will focus on the enormous mountains that have been moved during the global health pandemic and ensuin g financial crisis. Many State Chief Administrators may have found themsel ves asking, “Is this really what I signed up for?” as they were tasked with initiating often never-before attempted strategies with little to no rules on how to manage the situation. However, states have found that they inde ed have been adaptable and adept at functioning efficiently and many of the new solutions will live on into 2021 and beyond.
Join NASCA for the Winter Thought Leadership Series as we embark on a review of the lessons le arned in 2020 through targeted sessions on leadership and management, resul t-oriented strategic planning, a study of enterprise-wide solutions and bui lding new relationships across state government operations. These will be accomplished through keynote addresses, state micro-reviews, panel presenta tions, Learning Labs with our corporate partners, and thoughtful member eng agement. Along the way we will embed fun activities for informal networkin g as well as honor member accomplishments with a virtual awards ceremony. p>
The target audience for the series is State Chief Administrators, Depu ties and high-level supervisors and managers who are rising leaders in stat e government. Once again, NASCA is offering the series at no cost to state government employees who register at the request of their CAO. Corporate Council members may join in the events and can find a copy of the sponsorsh ip prospectus here. For any questions, please contact Pam Goins at pgoins@nasca.org.
